Amy Woodcock (nee Pentalow)

Amy Pentalow was born in 1845 in Raunds, Northamptonshire.

Around 1870 Amy became pregnant and 1870 she gave borth to Irene (Renee)

In December 1871 she married Samuel Woodcock  in Kettering and they had seven more children:

Kate Bertha Woodcock - born 1872, Kettering, married Frank Sweetland Cocks on 19th August 1896, in St John's Parish Church, Peterborough
Harry Woodcock - born 1876, Kettering married Mary Jane Parker
Edith Woodcock - born 26th September 1878, Thorney, Northamptonshire, married George Edward Fordham on 5th May 1904 in St John's Parish Church, Peterborough, and died 12th March 1948, Teddington, Middlesex
Flora (Flo) Woodcock - born 1880 Thorney, Northamptonshire, never married and died in Ontario, Canada
George Woodcock - born 1882, Thorney, Northamptonshire and died young on 15th February 1898, Peterborough, Northamptonshire
Margaret (Maggie) Woodcock - born 5th April 1884, Thorney, Northamptonshire, married Walter Leonard Yates Allen in St Mary's Church, Peterborough and died on 17th December 1952, Heanor, Nottinghamshire
Maud Woodcock - born 5th February 1887, Thorney, Northamptonshire, and died 4th November 1972 in Downsview, Ontario, Canada

Her husband Samuel died on 9th October 1891 aged 56 and was buried on Thorney Abbey churchyard.  Amy's stepson William took over the blacksmithy and Amy moved with her family into Peterborough City.

She lived initially at 17 Crawthorne Street before moving in with her son Harry in Whalley Street (literally just around the corner)

Amy died on 15th March 1916.  The Peterborough and Huntingdon Standard carried a notice on Saturday March 18th 1916 that read "Peterborough, March 15th, Amy Woodcock, Whalley Street 71"
