Bloomfield Ancestors
Mary Ann Bloomfield married Adam Fordham in 1838 in Coney Weston church.
Mary Ann was the daughter of Zephaniah Bloomfield, born 1780, died 1856, married to Mary (born 1782, died 1850) Zephaniah was the son of Edward (alias Edmund) Bloomfield, born 1739, died 1815, married at Honington on 12th January 1764 to Ann Simpson (born 1742, died 1813). It was this Edward Bloomfield who bought property in Coney Weston in 1776. Edward was the son of Edward Bloomfield of Ousden, born 1718 and died 1784, married in 1738 to Honour Page of Ousden Edward was the son of Isaac Blomfield of Framlington and Ousden, born 1682, died 1770, married 19th october 1703 Hannah Whitten (buried Ousden 7th Sept 1726) and then remarried St James Church, Bury St Edmunds in 1730 to Susan Clift ( a widow born 24th October 1764). IT IS THIS ISAAC BLOMFIELD WHO IS THE GREAT GRANDFATHER OF THE PASTORAL POET ROBERT BLOOMFIELD. THIS MAKES ZEPHANIAH BLOOMFIELD (my great great great great grandfather) THE SECOND COUSIN OF ROBERT BLOOMFIELD THE POET. Isaac was the son of Isaac Blomfield, born at Melton, lived at Woodbridge and rendlesham and died at Mildenhall in 1713, and Katherine Bird (a widow, nee Leverington) who died 27th January 1683, just two months after Isaac's birth. Katherine was Isaac's second wife, he went on to marry twice more. |
