Bridget O'Brien and James Shaw

Bridget was the daughter of Thomas  and Mary O'Brien (nee Butler), born in Irishtown, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

She married James Shaw also Irish.

James Shaw served in the English, American and Canadian armed forces.

They had three sons:

John Shaw, married Margaret Long
Tom Shaw (unmarried) served in the Royal Navy
James Shaw (unmarried) served in the Royal Engineers and died in Rochdale, Lancashire.

John was a charge nurse, but had served in the RAF.  John married Margeret Long who was a ward sister.  John was a very warm and sincere man, much loved within the family - he was especially close to Lily, Florrie and May.  I met him on several occasions and visit him and Margaret at the home in St Albans and he was the principle source of information putting together the pieces of the O'Brien/Irish family for me.  He has sadly since died

John and Margaret Shaw (nee Long) had three children:

Kevin Shaw BA B.Ed, a teacher who married Sharon Tominey.  They have two children Daniel and Lucy
Margaret Shaw B.Ed, a teacher
John Shaw BA, a  designer
