Lee Family History

It is this side of my family history that I have neglected the most - due in part to how few living members of the family there are.

My grandmother Barbara Ralph (nee Lee) - pictured right with my grandad Reginald Ralph on their wedding day - I remember very well and as a child spent a lot of time there in Hampton Wick, but I never really got the chance to talk to her about relatives.

However, her sister Auntie Marg (Margaret Pratt, nee Lee, now deceased) was a real source of knowledge and stories and her brother and sister-in-law John and Cis Lee (Uncle John has since passed away) have been brilliantly helpful.

The recent history is relatively easy to plot - the family are from North Devon (my father could not understand my great grandfather's Devon accent!) around the towns and villages of Biddeford, Merton and Beaford.  With the 1901 Census being available on line i have started to track the connections down and have made a lot of progress quite quickly.  I think once I start to type this up I will in fact have more information than I realise.

Once time and holiday permits I intend to head back to North Devon and finally find out the full picture.  My Mum holds many photos and records and has been assiduous in retaining snippets of information so when we get the chance to sit down and work through it I suspect I will have a much bigger understanding and record.
