Madeline Fordham - known as Maddie - was born in 1872 in Ailsworth, Peterborough, Northamptonshire, daughter of George and Alice Fordham (nee Anker).

She is pictured in the wedding of her brother George Edward Fordham in 1904 to Edith Woodcock in Peterborough.

On 29th April 1922, Madeline married Henry Humble at Beckenham Parish Church by J Plowden-Wardlaw, Rector of Beckenham.  Madeline was living at 63 Blandford Road, Beckenham and Henry Humble at 80 Blandford Road.  Henry's father John ( a Labourer ) is given as deceased as was George Fordham (formerly a retired police officer).  The witnessses at the wedding were David Rose and James Robert Fordham (brother)

Her nephew Edward Alan Fordham (my grandfather Felix) wrote:

"Madeline.  Worked in service most of her life.  Some years as housekeeper in household of Canon Chamberlain the then Rector of Upper Norwood.  Suffered meningitus as a young woman.  Married in later life a Mr Humble in Beckenham Parish Church, he was a retired policeman with a daughter and son.  He ailed from chest trouble and was a 'foot in the grave' at the time of marriage.  She suffered from awful colds and heads in winter.  Took her own life by falling in front of fast steam train at Kent House Station, Beckenham."
