Flora Woodcock - Aunt Flo

Flo's nephew Edward Alan Fordham made the following notes:

"Flora.  Came to London and worked mainly as a housekeeper.  Then ran a dress shop for a while at Lewisham with a girlfriend as partner.  gave up shop and kept house for 2 business men in Lewisham.  One died whilst she was there, as he left her nothing she shook her fist at him in his coffin!  Worked on munitions at Woolwich Arsenal during World War 1.  After War went to Canada and did well at private house cooking.  Slept a night in jail in America for crossing the boundary bridge from Canada.  Is buried in a concrete tomb in a Toronto cemetary.  Died of old age.  Used to do spiritualism - a mild form of could read the cards."

The 1901 Census records Aunt Flo as living in 22 Noel Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham as a residential domestic servant.
