The Shadbolt Family

There is some connection with the Shadbolt family that I have not managed to track down precisely yet.  I have  a link with a George Shadbolt living in Alban Avenue, St Albans that I need to follow up.

However, it would seem that a female member of the Key family (probably Tom's sister) married a Shadbolt.

This would seem to be bourne out by two factors.  In 1901 there is a Shadbolt family living in Ayot St Lawrence, not far from St Albans, and all of them are born in Ayot except Alice Shadbolt who is listed as born in Eccleshall, Staffordshire - precisely where the Key family appear to be from.

This would also explain why Lily, May and Florrie and family were moved from Ireland to St Albans (a relative was able to arrange accommodation) and why the were visiting Ayot St Lawrence as young women cycling past George Bernard Shaw's house.
